Great success for second edition of the “Samuele Donatoni” memorial, shooting competition with handguns and compressed air weaponsorganized by the Tots Academy at the Sniper club Pedalino shooting range.
The event was born with the intention of keep alive the memory of the state police inspector, Samuele Donatoni, belonging to the department of Nocs, fell during an operation to free a hostage. The competition, as per Tots Academy standards, was divided into three stages with different levels of difficulty.
New to this edition is the participation of very young people for which a special stage has been set up with freely available compressed air weapons. The Tots Academy, among its objectives, also has that of spreading and promoting the sport of shooting among young people, with the primary aim of creating a nursery that can increase the number of practitioners of this discipline. A further objective is to open the way for them to the Olympic disciplines and therefore to take part in national and international competitive scenarios.
They were in confrontation on the firing lines 60 men, women and very young people, all Csen memberswithin which the master instructor and organizer of the event, Giovanni Rosso, holds the role of national trainer and provincial manager of the shooting sector.
These are the rankings in the various categories.
Gun women: first place for Viviana Giocolano, second Sofia Ferrante, third Elisa Sansone, fourth Giuseppina Mossuto, fifth Veronica Conti.
Senior men gun: first Giuseppe Cassibba, second Salvatore Cutello, third Salvatore Giannone, fourth Pietro D’Angelo.
Men’s masters category: first Stefano Antoci, second Davide Giglio, third CG, fourth Stefano Greco.
Compressed air gun category: first Martina La Rosa, second Salvatore Cravè, third Francesco Cutrera, fourth Marcella Giannì.
Compressed air rifle category: 1st Carmelo Ficicchia, 2nd Michele Tronciu, 3rd Francesco Fichera, 4th Francesco Casì.
Under 15 pistol category: 1st Giansalvo Puccia, 2nd Carla Rosso, 3rd Samuele Saddemi, 4th Marco La Rosa.
Under 15 compressed air rifle category: 1st Carla Rosso, 2nd Ruben Vivolo, 3rd Edoardo Puccia, 4th Giansalvo Puccia.
“I am more than satisfied – says Giovanni Rosso – with the success of the event and with the results obtained by the competitors because they testify to the validity of the training methodology followed so far”.
The provincial president of Csen Ragusa, Sergio Cassisi, adds: “More and more people are approaching this sporting discipline with interest. Congratulations to Giovanni Rosso for the action carried out successfully”.
The next event will be the “Master Cup 2024” shooting championship which will begin in January 2024, also in this case scheduled at the Pedalino shooting range.
