Ana Paloma Nava Castillo Wins Silver and Bronze at 2024 National Universiade in Weightlifting

The athlete Ana Paloma Nava Castillo, representative of the University of Guanajuato in the Weightlifting discipline, shone at the 2024 National Universiade by obtaining the silver and bronze medal in the women’s 45 kilogram category.

The athlete from Guanajuato, nicknamed “La Colmena”, placed fourth in the snatch modality with 53 kilograms, while in the clean and jerk she reached second place with 70 kilograms. This outstanding performance earned her the silver medal and a total of 123 kilograms, which led her to take third place in the general category.

It is important to mention that Ana Paloma Nava competed in a ranking that included a total of eleven high-level athletes from prestigious higher education institutions, such as the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Metropolitan Autonomous University, among others.

The Maximum House of Studies of the state participates in the CONDDE 2024 Universiade, which is held at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (UAA), with a delegation of 64 athletes in various disciplines, including Chess, Athletics, Badminton, E-Sports, Judo , Karate, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Rugby, Taekwondo, Tennis, Table Tennis, Archery and Triathlon.
