Casemiro, Manchester United midfielder, injured against Newcastle

Casemiro should not set foot on the English pitch again this week, or even longer. Replaced by Sofyan Amrabat during an English League Cup match on Wednesday, the Manchester United midfielder will surely be absent for the match against Fulham. “Just before halftime he got injured. That’s why we had to release it. […] We have to wait 24 hours, but I think he is definitely out for Saturday,” Erik Ten Hag said at a press conference.

Already trailing 0-2 at the exit of the defensive midfielder, the Red Devils lost to Newcastle at home, in the round of 16 of the competition. The players from the north-west of England suffered against the Magpies who left with a prestigious success (0-3).

Preserved against Sheffield United and Manchester City previously, the Brazilian returned with an ankle injury from the international break at the beginning of October. Obviously still fragile, he could miss the trip to Copenhagen in the Champions League next Wednesday. His injury should not help the defensive problems of Manchester United, who have just conceded six goals in two matches.
