The France team will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina – who qualified at the expense of Bulgaria on a long shot from Dzanan Musa – in the second phase of qualifying for the 2023 World Cup.
Monday evening, Bosnia and Herzegovina snatched their ticket for the second phase against Bulgaria (76-73). It was his Liga ACB MVP, Dzanan Musa, who struck in the moneytime, drawing a game-winning 3-pointer two seconds from time. He had missed two free throws on the previous action before former Strasbourg player John Roberson took the offensive rebound and offered him a new match point.
The neo-Nanterrien Miralem Halilovic was also valuable (16 points, 8 rebounds). Conversely, the Bulgaria of Dee Bost – and deprived of Sasha Vezenkov – is eliminated in the first qualifying round.
A success which allows both the Bosnians (3-3) to validate their ticket for the second phase – in the group of the Blues – but also to count one more victory there. Not negligible when you know that the results of the first round are taken into account.
