Dallas Mavericks Secure Game One Victory in Conference Finals Against Timberwolves

The Dallas Mavericks achieved an important victory at the start of the playoff series against the Timberwolves.

The Dallas Mavericks took game one in the Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Led by an outstanding Doncic/Irving duo, the Mavs won 108:105.

The best thrower for Dallas in a close game in which no team was ahead by more than nine points for the entire duration was once again Doncic – the Slovenian scored 33 points. Kyrie Irving, the Texans’ second star player, contributed 30 points.

“I’m incredibly happy that we have him on our team. We have to keep working together and defending together, then things will look good,” said Doncic. “It’s not just about me either,” he continued when asked about his defense, “it’s about all five players who are on the floor and did a great job.”

Jaden McDaniels scored 24 points for the Timberwolves, who had previously dethroned defending champion Denver Nuggets around three-time MVP Nikola Jokic after a strong comeback.

Despite his first playoff double-double, Anthony Edwards remained below his potential with 19 points and eleven rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns was disappointing with 16 points on six of 20 shots from the field.

The Mavs, who were still missing Maximilian Kleber due to a shoulder injury, are dreaming of the second title in franchise history. The Texans last reached the Conference Final in 2022, but lost to the Golden State Warriors. The Texans’ only title to date came in 2011, led by German superstar Dirk Nowitzki.

Game two takes place on Saturday night, also in Minnesota.
