Carla Colonnelli Wins Archery Gold | L’Aquila 2024

When we talk about archery, the common imagination immediately evokes open spaces and large green meadows. However, a type of competition particularly appreciated by archers is the indoor competition, which takes place in a sports hall, over the canonical distance of 18 metres.

Shooting in a closed environment, together with other archers, requires considerable mastery of technique and concentration given the small size of the targets.

The intimate atmosphere, smells and sounds specific to the indoor context can easily lead to distractions which inevitably reflect on the final results.

The race took place in Avezzano (AQ) on Sunday 25 January with the following results:

  • female master compound bow: 1st Colonels Carla;
  • senior female naked bow: 3rd Della Valle Tania;
  • women’s senior Olympic bow: 4th Scancella Daniela;
  • Olympic men’s masters bow: 11th Malfatti Andrea
  • Olympic men’s masters bow: 13th D’Annibale Claudio.
