Scottie Barnes Leads Raptors Past Magic 129-99

TORONTO — Scottie Barnes bounced back from a scoreless outing by scoring 28 points, leading the Toronto Raptors to a 129-99 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. The dominant performance came just days after Barnes was held without a point while shooting 0-for-12 from the field against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Barnes Recovers Against Orlando

The bounce-back effort for the star forward featured a complete statistical line. Alongside his 28 points, Barnes contributed six rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three blocks in front of the home crowd at Scotiabank Arena.

The turnaround marked his second 28-point game of the season. It stood in stark contrast to Sunday’s loss in Minnesota, where he failed to draw a single free throw or score during continuous play.

Balanced Scoring and Long-Range Shooting

RJ Barrett supported Barnes with 25 points, scoring 21 of them in the first half alone. Barrett also added nine rebounds and six assists to help pace the Raptors’ offense.

Toronto benefited from a 43 percent success rate on three-point attempts. Immanuel Quickley finished with 16 points and seven assists, hitting four of his eight shots from beyond the arc. Ja’Kobe Walter added 14 points, Jamal Shead chipped in 13 points and seven assists, and Collin Murray-Boyles scored 10 points off the bench.

First-Half Surge Secures Control

The Magic initially jumped ahead 19-10 before Toronto wrestled away momentum. A basket and subsequent free throw from Barrett pushed the lead to 58-48 during a fast-break sequence.

Late in the second quarter, Barnes punctuated the first-half surge with a spinning dunk that extended the margin to 67-51. The Raptors carried a 69-53 advantage into halftime and coasted through the second half to secure their third win in four games.

Roster Shortages and Upcoming Schedule

Tristan Da Silva led the Magic with 20 points in the loss. Orlando played without Paolo Banchero, who was sidelined with a right ankle injury, and Jalen Suggs, who missed the contest due to a left knee injury.

The Raptors played without star forward Kawhi Leonard, who the team announced Tuesday will miss at least one week due to a left knee issue. Toronto will immediately host the Magic again on Friday night to complete the back-to-back home series.
