Glasner Exit: Palace Manager Seeking New Challenge

Oliver Glasner (51) has been doing a great job on the Crystal Palace bench for almost two years now. According to the latest information from Spain, the Austrian coach has decided to leave at the end of the season with the expiry of his contract, while the target should be a leading European club. The management of the Eagles has reportedly already looked for a replacement, Getafe coach José Bordalás (61).

On Wednesday it will be exactly 666 days since Glasner sat on the Crystal Palace bench. Under his leadership, the club coped with the departure of Michael Olis to Bayern, and is respectably managing the game without Arsenal’s summer signing Eberechi Eze. After the expiration of the contract, the Eagles will most likely also leave the stopper Marc Guéhi, who is also looking to move to the giant.

According to the Spanish radio Cadena SER, the coach himself has the same plans. Glasner has a contract until June 2026 and does not plan to extend it, as he would like to lead a big European club, while there is speculation about a team from the traditional big six on the Islands.

The Austrian skipper guided Palace to their first ever major trophy when they won the FA Cup last season by defeating Manchester City in the final. He then made good use of the place in the Community Shield, starting the current year by training Liverpool, the reigning league champion.
