Yulimar Rojas supports athletes on the Olympic route

In the second week of April of this year, triple jumper Yulimar Rojas suffered an injury that put an end to her Olympic aspirations in Paris 2024. But pain and frustration never broke her commitment to Venezuela and, although she would no longer lead the delegation, She would find a way to support them and accompany them in their dream.

This Thursday, through her Foundation, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion, seven-time world champion, awarded scholarships to 15 athletes, some already with a ticket to Paris and others on the qualification route.

These scholarships are named after Andrés Henríquez, the Foundation’s former communications director, who passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2023.

“It is the name of someone very special who was and has been a light that has been with me. A few months ago that light left, but it left a sporting and communication legacy; a legacy of struggle, work and love for sport and I want to immortalize it through this scholarship,” said Yulimar through a video call from Barcelona, Spain.
