Julio Urías Reaches Agreement in Domestic Violence Case: What’s Next for the Mexican Pitcher?

Originally, Julio Uríasa Mexican pitcher, was scheduled to have a hearing in a Los Angeles court on May 2 for his arraignment in his case of domestic violence.

However, he reached an agreement that seems to resolve his situation with justice. Uriah chose plead no contest to one of five lesser charges which he received on April 8 for an incident with his wife Daisy.

This position, listed as “domestic assault involving a relationship“, was the only one who did not challenge, while the other four were removed.

As part of the agreement, Uriah was placed in probation for 36 months and must complete 30 days of community service and a 52-week domestic violence counseling course.

Furthermore, he was ordered pay a fine to the domestic violence fund, not possess weapons, not use force or violence, pay restitution to the victim and comply with a protective order. Although did not admit guiltnor did he contest the charge.

Urías’ case dates back to an incident that occurred on September 3 of last year, when he was arrested after an argument with his partner.

For now, Major League Baseball (MLB) did not issue any sanction against Urías due to his status as a free agent and the ongoing judicial process.

Urías, who played eight years with the Dodgers, could now have his future in the japanese baseballwhile his legal situation is resolved.
