Preliminary round exit in the Champions League, danger of relegation in the Primera División – Sevilla FC is in a deep crisis. Fans and players are nervous. Also with Sergio Ramos, the club’s most colorful figure.

Sergio Ramos’ frustration was obviously deep. As so often this season, the Sevilla FC defender had to explain his team’s poor performance after the final whistle. After the 2-0 defeat against Athletic Bilbao, the 37-year-old searched for the right words to explain the fifth defeat in the last six games.

The world and European champion was interrupted during his remarks on the sidelines by a fan who obviously didn’t quite agree with what he had seen before. The supporter interrupted the interview with heckling. Ramos didn’t put up with this. As if on the pitch, the central defender straddled between them and loudly reprimanded the troublemaker.

“Have a little respect, we’re talking here! Respect the people and the coat of arms, this is what we’re talking about. Respect us and shut up,” Ramos shouted towards the stands.

Sevilla FC supporters have every reason to be disappointed this season. The team has only won three of 19 games in the Primera Division and is only one point above the relegation places with 16 points. In the Champions League, the team only got two draws in the preliminary round and was eliminated as bottom of the group.

Sevilla have already fired two coaches

Ramos returned to his hometown club from Paris St. Germain in the summer. So far he has not been able to stop the team from falling, which had to cope with the departure of many top performers before the season. A total of 18 professionals left the financially troubled club. Rebuilding is difficult. Sevilla have already fired two coaches this season, Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso.

Ramos left the interview with conciliatory words: “You have to accept everything, that’s the situation and we understand people’s frustration.”
