L’Italy is bronze medalist in the women’s team recurve bow at the 2023 European Games in Krakow (Poland). Nice result at continental level achieved by the trio composed of Tatiana Andreoli, Chiara Rebagliati and Lucilla Boariwho climb to the third step of the podium at the end of a satisfactory journey.
A journey that started from this morning’s quarter-finals, when the Italians won Slovenia was swept away 6-0 (Umer, Cavic, Pintaric). The partial results were also clear: 55-50, 53-48, 51-50. Unfortunately then came the semi-final knocked out only in the 5-4 shoot-out against Great Britain (Healey, Sagoo, Pitman).
Italy that was twice ahead in the score, 2-0 and 4-2 with two excellent partials, the first and the third (56-51, 55-50). The opponents responded by winning the second and fourth (57-52, 54-50). Everything thus arrived at the three decisive arrows which clearly rewarded the British: 29-24.
The Italian trio was able to react promptly in the final for the bronze medal: 5-3 to Germany. A first set tied at 55, a terrible second set by the Italians with 47 points and two exceptional sets with 58 points which thus opened the doors for Andreoli, Rebagliati and Boari to the less valuable metal.
Gold medal precisely for Great Britain who got the better of France 5-1 in the final: after a first set that ended in a draw (51-51), the British took the lead with two exceptional sets (55 and 58 points), thus overtaking the French team who they have to settle for silver.
