Preparations Underway for the 16th Edition of the Living Nativity Scene in Tarquinia

NewTuscia – TARQUINIA – Last hours of preparations at the convent of San Francesco for the preparation of the living nativity scene of Tarquinia. The volunteers are working to assemble the sets of the re-enactment which mixes tradition and religiosity, in a suggestive setting overlooking Tuscia, in the highest part of the historic center of the Etruscan city. The ribbon cutting of the 16th edition is on December 26th, at 5pm.

No detail is overlooked by the Tarquinia Living Nativity Association, in order to give visitors unique emotions. Over the years, the performance has become the most awaited Christmas event in Tarquinia and one of the most important in Upper Lazio. Among the new scenes performed by actors from the Excalibur Theater Company. The court of King Herod, the Sanhedrin with the priests, the moment of the shepherds announcing the birth of Jesus, moments of daily life in the inns and among the market stalls will be discussed. For the scenography, an aqueduct with a wheel and the legionaries’ camp, symbol of Roman imperial power, stand out. The entrance ticket costs 5 euros. Entry is free for children up to 10 years old. The two cash registers, which will open from 3pm, will be located in Piazza Giacomo Matteotti and in the car park of the convent of San Francesco, on Via Porta Tarquinia.
