Elective Ag of the Senegalese Basketball Federation of May 6: the UBBS and the CRBS charge Me Babacar Ndiaye and challenge the mode of election

A stone’s throw from the General Assembly scheduled for May 6, tension has risen a notch in the middle of Senegalese basketball. After the accusations and reproaches, the Union of Basketball players and Basketball players of Senegal (UBBS) and the Convergence for the Renewal of Senegalese Basketball (CRBS) returned to the charge, through a joint press conference held yesterday, Wednesday April 5, to decry the management of the current president Me Babacar Ndiaye and question the ability of the Senegalese Basketball Federation to organize transparent elections. The former glory Mathieu Faye also took advantage of this meeting to announce his candidacy for the presidency of the FSBB.

One day after the reply that the Senegalese Basketball Federation gave him to reassure him about the mode of election and the management of discipline, the Union of Basketball Players and Basketball Players of Senegal (UBBS) and the Convergence for the Renewal of Basketball Senegalese (CRBS) returned to the charge through a press conference held yesterday, Wednesday April 5, to shoot the current president and doubt his ability to organize transparent elections during the Elective General Assembly set for May 6 next. After having already denounced the mode of election and the violation of the texts, Pathé Keita, member of the CRVB and President of Guédiawaye Basket Académie does not budge and still challenges the electoral committee. “This federation knows that it cannot organize the elections. Contrary to what she claims, I have with me about fifteen applications. Candidates for the presidency and others for the steering committee. There are others that have not yet been transmitted to me. But, we are not going to file at the level of this electoral committee because Babacar Ndiaye, alone, has the electoral file. He makes his rounds and only tells slanders. For example in Tambacounda, there are three teams. He says these teams are with him. It’s wrong ! I have the file of the president of the Oriental Club who is with the CRBS”, did he declare.

“In 2021, he had the texts modified. The debate was heated. During this session, we had shown our indignation because we could not understand that you are re-elected by texts and after you have reached the limit of the mandates, you want to change them. It is unacceptable !”, he continued in comments relayed by wiwsport.

For the leader of Guédiawaye basketball Academy, “the president wants to have an electoral stock. Unfortunately, he has the steering committee on his side. Everything he brings there passes. He does not want to show the voters file because he knows that if he shows it, we will detect the fictitious clubs”. Following the member of the CRBS, the former glory Mathieu Faye, who declared his candidacy, insisted on governing the press release in which the Basketball Federation denied him the legitimacy to speak of a non-transparent election or even to speak in the name of former glories. “For over eight (8) years we let it happen because we are Democrats. We respect his teaching. It happens to come at the end of this magisterium. Today, the image that basketball sends back is not encouraging. It’s not just the national team. The clubs, the club presidents all complain about his management, ”he replied while ruling out wanting to settle personal problems with the president of the FSBB.

“I have never attacked anyone and I have never spoken in terms as filthy as those used in the press release to Me Babacar Ndiaye. The attacks are unilateral, addressed to my person and I don’t know why. It is perhaps because he lacks arguments that he uses inglorious means, ”he adds.

In the same vein, the former president of the Basketball Federation, Baba Tandian has again taken out the sulfateuse to attack without management Me Babacar Ndiaye and decry the mismanagement of the discipline for ten years.
