Air Force stomps and is the athletics leader Military Games

THE ROMAN. The Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD) had a splendid performance on the second day of competition to assume the leadership of the athletics tournament of the Military Sports Games of the Armed Forces and the National Police.

A harvest of 141 points collected on Friday. Against only 39 of the Army of the Dominican Republic (ERD), until the moment leader of the event, he was able to the FARD in a firm direction to retain the title of champion of military athletics.

After two days, the Air Force comfortably commands the championship with 281 points, against 211 for the Army, which entered the leader’s activity on Friday with 172, versus 137 for the aviation troop led by coaches Armando Zayas and Ramon Valdez ( San Juan).

Distant and without a chance to fight for first place are the Dominican Republic Navy and the National Police, which barely bill 98 and 40 points, respectively.

The protagonists of the new feat were Paulino and Mendez, with gold and silver in the women’s 200, clocking successive times of 23.39 and 24.39. Yenifer Diaz, from the Navy, did a time of 25.87 to take bronze.

In the men’s final, the stars were Yancarlos Martinez, gold winner with 20.69, and Jose Gonzalez (silver with the same time), while the bronze with 20.99 went to Jeison Eduardo Phipps, from the Navy.

Franshina Martínez, from the Air Force, and Juander Santos, from the Police, won the gold medals in the 400-meter hurdles, achieving times of 59.18 and 49.93. The champion was escorted by her partner Evilin del Carmen (1: 00.15) and Issamar Valdez, from the Army, with 1: 03.55. In the men, the silver remained in the hands of the guard Yeral Núñez (50.08) and the aviator Robert King, favorite for gold, was relegated to a bronze with a time of 51.89.

The pilot Ferdy Agramonte was crowned in the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1:47.90, escorted by Luis Emilio Peralta (1:49.92) and Nefer Santana (1:51.15), from the Navy and the National Police, respectively. The women’s champion was De Anna Martin, from the Navy, with 2:08.64, while the aerial Lilian Gil Reyes (2:10.78) and Franshina Martínez (2:13.41) won silver and bronze.

In women’s, the Navy won gold and silver with Naile Lopez (time of 18.29.16) and Karel Ramírez (20:16.32). The aviator Viageisy Jiménez obtained the silver with 18:51.29.

Yesi Tejeda, from the Air Force, won the heptathlon title with 5,086 points; she followed by Mayelin López and Marleni Núñez, from the Army, who finished with 4,435 and 3,308.

Luis Manuel Ramírez won the discus throw with a mark of 52.74, followed by guard Julio Rijo (44.41) and pilot Lisandro Ozoria (41.88). In hammer throw, the gold, silver and bronze medalists were Anthony Santana (FARD), the sailor Estarlin Martes (48.70) and the policeman Franklin Adames (48.61).

Rosa Angelica Santana battled against two rivals from the Navy, Samantha Morillo and Yamilet Batista, to win gold in the women’s shot put. They achieved successive marks of 17.67, 14.01 and 12.04. In the javelin, Alexander Fernández, from the Army, won with 62.92, escorted by his partner Sócrates Agesta (61.92) and the policeman Sandy Pimentel (60.90).

The first final of the relay, the women’s 4×100, was run yesterday and the Air Force imposed its favoritism by winning gold with 44.84, driven by its athletes Liranyi Alonzo, Martha Méndez, Anabel Medina and Darianny Jiménez.

Mariana Perez, Estrella De Aza, Kiara Rodriguez and Ruth Graciano, with 46.72, won the silver medal for the Army and the bronze with 46.73 went to the sailors Melania Mezca, Milagros Duran, Bianka Acosta and Yenifer Diaz.
