Stealers Dominate the Untouchables in High-Scoring Baseball Showdown

Stealers win the battle against the Untouchables

In a hit festival, the Hamburg Stealers prevailed against the Untouchables Paderborn. After four innings, the score was 13:6 for the northern Germans in the Langenhorst Ballpark.

The guests from Paderborn went ahead by one run in the second inning after an RBI double by Bjarne Reinhardt. Just one inning later, Ryuta Okada tied the game with an RBI single and at the same time loaded the bases without making any outs. Quin Cotton then had a great chance to score several runs, but hit a double play, which only allowed Marc Harder to score the second run for the Stealers.

Just one inning later, the guests came back again. Maurice Bendrien equalized with an RBI single before a wild pitch from Hamburg’s starter on the mound, Simon Bäumer, allowed Bendrien to score the third run for the U’s.

But the home team was not shocked and decided the game in their favor immediately in the fifth inning. At the end of this turbulent round, the Stealers had a whopping nine runs on the scoreboard. Five hits from the Stealers, three wild pitches from Paderborn’s starting pitcher Mark Harrison, a wild pitch from reliever Jan-Luca Vogt and an error from third baseman Finn Bergmann led to the visitors’ defeat.

Simon Bäumer secured the win, allowing eleven hits, five runs and two walks in 5 2/3 innings on the mound. He sent nine opposing batters back to the dugout via strikeout.
