The daily Blesk also spoke with the former partner of Martin Pěnička: “He was in IKEM 14 days ago. It was preparation for a liver transplant, but Martin refused it. Then he was in the hospital in Jablonec for three days, but he ran away from there. He drank and then died.

He broke the staff above him. He didn’t want to be here in this world anymore” thinks his former teammate. “After the divorce, he was left alone. It didn’t work out in the family. He did not associate with anyone from Slavia or in Liberec, where he lived. He delivered food around Jablonec, but no one wanted to ride with him anymore because he was drinking. He had to quit that company and made a living,” he adds.
