Aguascalientes, Mex. – The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico is celebrating, the highest house of studies in the State of Mexico achieved three new medals in the 2024 National Universiade, a fact for which the rector celebrated the performance of the athletes who ascended to the podium in the national event.
Carlos Eduardo Barrera Díaz, rector of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, celebrated and recognized the athletes who achieved two metals, one bronze and one silver.
“Congratulations to Fernando and Getsemaní, medalists in University Wrestling of the National Universiade. Their effort, dedication and skills are inspiring. “You have shown what can be achieved with hard work and perseverance,” wrote the rector of the highest Mexican educational institution.
At the same time, the Autonomous Mexiquense also recognized the efforts of the athletes, who put their alma mater in high regard and thus the Mexican contingent already has more than a dozen medals in this national event.
“We continue adding medals at the 2024 National Universiade. Congratulations to Getsemaní Díaz Gabriel and Fernando Fernández Pacheco, for the bronze and silver medals, respectively, in University Wrestling. “His passion and discipline are admirable,” they wrote on social networks.
The UAEMex athletes who are part of the disciplines of badminton, paddle tennis, wrestling and soccer, will begin their participation in search of new medals; while Sol Alejandra Retureta, in the final stretch of the day, in the 57 kg Category, after winning her second fight, she advanced to the final, where she won the silver medal. Something similar was achieved in mixed paddle tennis, where the team made up of Gerardo Costilla and Marifer Noriega went to the final in search of a medal.
