Doudera circled the goal with the puck on his stick, from which Motor’s goalkeeper Dominik Hrachovina slid completely outside the goal area. The Třineck defender then hit the open cage without any problems. But he only rejoiced for a few seconds. The judges immediately announced that they would not recognize the goal. Allegedly due to Aron Chmielewski’s position in the goal area….
The problem was that the Polish striker Třinec was not standing in the goal area at that moment. The returning Hrachovina pushed it into him only at the moment when the puck was already in the net. Slovakian Hrehorčák had one skate in the goal area, but he absolutely did not prevent the masked man from České Budějovice from making a save.
“It doesn’t bother me. (Chmielewski) is standing outside the goal area and why wouldn’t he be standing there too… I don’t understand at all and I don’t understand at all why this goal was not recognized,” its hockey expert David Pospíšil was surprised at the referees’ verdict in ČT.
“The reason they gave me was that Aron was in the goal area when their goalkeeper was moving back to the goal. Therefore, he probably bothered the goalkeeper so that he could make a save,” Steelers captain Martin Růžička rightly explained the senseless and erroneous interpretation of the men in stripes.
Immediately after the first period, delegate Milan Kolísek went to the referees’ booth to tell them that they had committed a mistake and should have recognized Douder’s hit.
Immediately after the disallowance of the goal, Hejduk urged the guests that if they did not agree with the verdict, they could challenge the coach. The Steelers’ substitute – quite surprisingly – did not do so. “I asked the coaches, I looked at them if there was a challenge and they said no,” said Růžička.
“I don’t understand why Třinec didn’t appeal,” concluded Pospíšil. If the Steelers took the challenge and were successful, the goal would stand. Otherwise, they would receive two minutes for delaying the game.
Crushing pressure at the end, #Hudáček he didn’t give something in the last seconds that can’t even be changed. @hcocelaricz they claim their third defeat in a row, against @HC_Motor lost all four games in the regular season. Dominik Hrachovina’s gesture of consolation must also be appreciated.#INCLUDE pic.twitter.com/OuB4PyqQfZ

České Budějovice turned the score around and won 3:2. Also due to the incredible failure of Libor Hudáček in the last seconds of the third period. The Slovakian attacker had a completely empty goal in front of him, but from two steps he failed fatally and only hit the left post.
