ATP, ITF And Kosmos Announce Davis Cup Partnership | ATP Tours

The ATP, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Kosmos Tennis today announced an unprecedented strategic alliance starting in 2023 supporting the Davis Cup by Rakuten, the largest and longest running annual international sporting event with a 122-year history.

The new partnership has been established to enable strategic collaboration in the governance and evolution of the competition, with the ATP awarding two of the six seats in a newly formed Davis Cup Events Committee alongside the ITF and Kosmos, investors to long term and promoters of competition. The association officially brings together the ATP and ITF at Davis Cup for the first time in history in a combined effort to maximize the success of historic team competition like the Men’s Tennis World Cup.

The Davis Cup Finals and qualifying rounds now become an official part of the 2023 ATP Tour calendar, taking place in weeks 5, 37 and 47, with increased promotion on the ATP channels. This integration will help players plan their annual schedule when selected to play for their national Davis Cup team. The Finals will continue under its current format, offering $15 million in prize money for players in 2023.

Davis Cup recorded its highest levels of national participation in its history in 2022, with 137 nations competing in this year’s edition at all levels of competition. The ITF Davis Cup runs alongside its sister, the Women’s Tennis World Cup, the Billie Jean King by Gainbridge Cup.
