Andoni Iraola: “Falcao played a very complete match”

Radamel Falcao García was the star of the match between Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, which ended in a 1-1 draw for matchday ten of LaLiga Santander at the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium. The Colombian striker scored in added time, the goal with which his team recovered a point, after a great definition from the penalty spot.

Coach Andoni Iraola highlighted Tigre’s performance at the end of the match. The technical director highlighted the level of the player both in the first half in which he contributed in defense, had sacrifice and supported the brand, as in the complementary part in which he had the best attacking options for his team and ended up earning the penalty with determination, nailing the ball into the corner.

“Falcao played a very complete game, in the first half the team wasn’t doing so well, he gave us oxygen, he held the ball and he did an uglier job. In the second half we were already much closer to the area, the chances and the balls have come much closer. I was tired at the end,” said the coach.

“The team was already very close to the area, we didn’t need him to make great efforts, he could find those balls where he likes. He had a very clear one that we were almost celebrating and he couldn’t get in, but then the penalty came and he didn’t miss it”, added the technical director.

Falcao: “We all work to obtain a positive result”

After his goal, Radamel Falcao García published an emotional message on social networks celebrating not only his goal but also the tie achieved against one of the three best teams in the championship. “Great performance from the whole team. We all work for a positive result. Thank God that he allowed me to score”, he shared.

This was the first game that Radamel Falcao García played 90 minutes this season. His balance so far is 10 games played, only two as a starter, and two goals scored. The player received his first award as MVP of the match from LaLiga.
