“Incognito with the lapel legion and security agents behind him?” wrote a user on his Twitter account, citing a video of the president that was filmed speaking to someone in French while passing a security barrier.
The couple received widespread criticism and ridicule on social media for their choice of outfit at the British Queen’s funeral.
“Appearing in sneakers in front of the queen’s coffin is an unforgivable lack of taste. A French president and his wife would clearly not do that… And yet they dared, ”said another user of the same social network.

Some users accused Macron that his shoes could provoke a war between France and the United Kingdom.
