Villa Miter had its dream night last Sunday against Lanús where it was able to liquidate the semifinal series of the Southern Conference of the Argentine League and entered the finals where it will be measured next Sunday against Racing in Chivilcoy.

And Bahía Blanca once again vibrated, like in the old days, with basketball and won the title of “Basketball Capital” with an overwhelmed José Martínez.

Gastón Fernández, coach of Los Guerreros, analyzed in THE COMPASS 24 that “we knew that against Lanús it was going to be a very tough series. We played against the No. 1 of the regular phase, a team that was always very aggressive in vertical situations, playing a lot on the court, playing very much from the perimeter, with shooters like Caponi and Ríos, and the insiders also taking decisions outside the perimeter. That’s why we knew that we had to control the fast attack above all and not let them run and play situations that were a little more set, I think that throughout the series we did it very well and I think that in the last game that difference was made.” .

While regarding the final against Racing de Chivilcoy, which will begin this Sunday, the coach maintained that “the final against Racing is also going to be a very physical series because it is a team very similar to the League team, although it has a little more inner game. Today Emilio Stucky (suspended after the incidents against Racing de Avellaneda) will not be included for four dates, who is a very important intern for them. But it will be a conference final very similar to what Lanús always proposes.”

Then he added that “I think we are doing something important for the club, logically getting into a conference final was something we had in mind. It wasn’t that we saw it as far away but we always had our feet on the ground and we were growing. I think that in the last stage we were a little more encouraged and excited to think that we could be there. I think what happened was beautiful. I saw a lot of people from Villa Miter but also from Bahia basketball who want Bahía to do well, and well that was reflected a lot since we are the city’s team and we are representing them at the national level. And I think we are doing very well, so on that side, I am very happy and very happy for this present that the club and the city itself are experiencing.”
