From July 31 to August 5, the National Commission for Savate Defense offers its annual internship near Tournon-sur-Rhône (Ardèche).
And six! Savate Défense will experience its sixth annual Discipline Training and Improvement course this summer. An appointment which will take place from July 31 to August 5 on the side of the infrastructures of the Boxing Club Tain Tournon (Ardèche). Set up by the National Commission of Savate Défense, these “Summer Universities” are open to licensees of Savate Défense, but also to all licensees of the French Federation of Savate French boxing wishing to discover this discipline or improve in it.
An internship “which promises to be as rewarding as ever”explains José Pinheiro, president of the National Commission for Savate Defense. “The approach undertaken to modernize and develop Savate Défense finds its continuity in the Commission’s desire to train our practitioners as well as possible, and just as much, our future teachers. A growing discipline
Savate Defense is a discipline in full development, which continues to attract new curious people from year to year. This form of practice aims to allow the learning of techniques aimed at developing a skill of self-defense. The training partner prepares the student in Savate Defense to confront an aggression close to reality; this can be removed from the training situation and the technical progression learned in the gym. The techniques make it possible to take the first steps and to progress in the knowledge of the gestures allowing to respond to an attack in seizure or percussion.
Savate Defense requires knowing how to best organize yourself in the face of an attack. This organization always remains defensive, that is to say, it must fall within the framework of self-defence. Thus, Savate Defense must exercise discernment in the response, which must always be proportionate to the attack.
