After the loss of Ostapenko in the singles final on Saturday, Czech athlete Petra Kvitova, who already had the 29th title in the WTA competition, did not go to the final in the doubles final of Ostapenko and Kichenok.

It has already been reported that last year’s Eastbourne tournament champion Ostapenko, who is ranked 14th in the WTA ranked with the eighth number in the tournament, gave way to Kvitova (WTA’s 31st), who was seeded 14th in the competition with 3-6, 2-6.

Ostapenko earned 305 points in the world rankings for both singles and doubles.

It has already been reported that the Latvian-Ukrainian duo, which was not sown in the tournament, won the first round 4-6, 6-4, 10: 8 over the American Nicolas Melichar-Martines and the Chinese Jan Shui, in the quarterfinals with 4-6, 6-1 , 10: 3 beat British tennis player Heritage Dart and Heter Wotson, but in the semifinals the Chinese Xui Yifan and Jan Zhao Yuan won 7-5, 7-6 (7: 4).

Meanwhile, Krunich and Linete became the winners after only two games, as in the semi-finals, which had to be played with the American Serena Williams, who had a return to the field, and the victory of the Tunisian Ons Žabēri was celebrated without a game. The opponent did not leave the court because Zabera had been injured.

Last week, Ostapenko / Kichenok triumphed in the doubles competition for the WTA 250 in Birmingham. For the Latvian tennis player, this was the fifth WTA doubles title in his career.

At the beginning of the month, Ostapenko and Kichenok battled it out to the semifinals of the French Open Championship doubles tournament, both reaching this stage for the first time in their careers. In February, they competed in the final of the WTA 500 in Dubai, where they lost.

The Eastbourne tournament was the last race before the Wimbledon Championship.
