They had a great start and from the beginning they drove us. But then we looked around, took over the reins of the game and helped ourselves with a power play. Then it was like … We didn’t bounce, it was so nervous, but we drove in weakness and it was done.
Kladno also locked you in the beginning of the third part. Did you stay, as they say, with your heads in the cabin?
We didn’t get out of the third for two minutes. It looked like their power play. We made it, but it cost us a lot of energy. Maybe it was breaking there, as well as in the weakening eight minutes before the end, when we scored an extra goal.

Was it difficult to confirm the role of the favorite and get the required points in quotation marks?
I knew before the match that it would not be easy. Against these opponents, who play for everything, the matches are all the harder. Kladno gave a nice performance, if they continue like this, they will collect some points. The second thing is that everyone wants to flog us, everyone is motivated to beat us. It’s all the harder for us. We still have to maintain a high standard.

As a Kladěňák, how do you view the Knights’ struggle for retention?
Of course, I’m not happy, but such assumptions were already before the season. So far, it is coming true. It will be crucial for Kladno to keep Zlín under it. And eventually he tried to avoid barrage.
Kladno legend Jaromír Jágr plays the extra league at the age of forty-nine. What do you, as a pupil of Kladno, say about what he is showing?
Of course it has quality. On the other hand, with all due respect to him in the league and what he is going through, he would not pass in any other league. Even today. That’s funny. But that’s the way it is, we have to fight it.

Do you mean his inconspicuous hooks on Martin Růžička and Ondřej Kovařčík, or debates with judges?
I will not comment, I do not want to be fined. But you saw how the match unfolded, what controversial situations were there. We slowly had to laugh at it, it was awkward.
Is it hard to talk about him like that?
But I’m not saying it’s his fault. He does the best he can for Kladno. The mistake is somewhere else, but I don’t want to go into detail here and go into details so that there are no problems.

Are these players different from when you jumped into the league for Kladno?
Sure, in my first extra-league season 2012/2013 there was a lockout, we had there I think five NHL players, it was a pleasure to watch. Everyone at the time was in top form, deciding matches. The two of them (Jágr with Plekance) specifically keep the performance. All honor, in his years, how he maintains and can be competitive.
Is it still difficult to push Jágr in front of the gate?
Yeah, he’s over a hundred pounds, he can help his ass. He has a long hockey stick, it’s hard for him to get on the puck. It is his advantage throughout his career, he can still use it.
