After ceasing their sanctions following the return of Ben Simmons to training, the 76ers are obviously tired of the behavior of their star leader. They would thus have decided to bring the hefty fines up to date!
If there is one lesson that the Sixers have to offer at the start of the season, it is that they can do without the services of Ben Simmons. Without the Australian, and despite the temporary absence of Tobias Harris, or the difficulties encountered by Joel Embiid, Doc Rivers’ men peak at the top of the Eastern Conference standings (7-2). A finding that should encourage them to trade the leader, even if his suitors are tough in business.
While waiting to find him a way out, the Philadelphia front office is doing everything to reinstate him in the team, and see him re-don the jersey of the franchise. Big Ben does not hear it that way, however, and refuses the help offered by his leaders to accelerate his return. An attitude that extends more and more over time, and which logically does not delight his superiors.
New XXL fines for Ben Simmons
Ready to offer him a second chance, and to be patient with him, Daryl Morey would have returned to Simmons with a new outstretched hand. The latter would have ultimately refused, which seems to have quite annoyed the president of basketball operations and his assistants. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, they would therefore have decided to renew the financial sanctions!

According to ESPN sources, the 76ers have fined Ben Simmons $ 360,000, equivalent to his pay per game, for missing Thursday’s game, and plan to revert to such penalties until he cooperates with doctors on the team regarding his mental health concerns, and fulfills other basketball-related obligations.
A scathing reaction, which could potentially push Simmons to reconsider his positions. Indeed, this type of punishment had proven its effectiveness a few weeks ago, when the Fresh Prince refused to return to Pennsylvania, and awaited his transfer from Los Angeles. His bosses now hope to reap the same results, and take another step forward in this perilous issue!
Always so capricious, Ben Simmons is now reaping the consequences, with substantial fines that will be imposed on him in each game. Not sure that his sulking will continue for long at this rate!
