Villarreal vs Barcelona Duel Leaves Controversy, Unai Emery Protests About Penalty

BOLASPORT.COM – Unai Emery highlighted the penalty that was not given by the referee in the Villarreal versus Barcelona duel which he considered left controversy.

Villarreal will host Barcelona in the 15th round of the Spanish League 2021-2022.

Playing at the Estadio de la Ceramica, Saturday (27/11/2021) or early Sunday WIB, Villarreal were forced to give up 1-3 by Barcelona.

Had a 0-0 draw in the first half, Villarreal had to concede in the 48th minute through Frenkie de Jong’s goal.

Frenkie de Jong’s goal was analyzed by VAR before it was confirmed because it smelled of offside.

However, in the end the referee still approved De Jong’s goal and made Barcelona 1-0 up.

Villarreal had equalized 1-1 through Samuel Chukwueze’s goal in the 76th minute.

In the final minutes, the Yellow Submarines conceded two El Barca goals which were scored by Memphis Depay (88′) and Philippe Coutinho’s penalty (90+4′).
