The NBA turns 75

The season is underway, but this November 1 is the date that cannot be overlooked, the NBA officially celebrates 75 years since the beginning of what has become the most powerful and global league in the world.

It was on November 1, 1946, when the first game in the history of the league took place. The New York Knickerbockers faced the Toronto Huskies, in a game that took place at Maple Leaf Gardens in the city of Toronto.

The Knicks were the ones who took the victory with a score of 68-66 and it was precisely a Knicks player who was in charge of making the first basket in history, Ossie Schectman is the name that remains in history as the man who got the first points.

Toronto and New York 75 years later

Although there will be celebrations throughout the season to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the NBA, the league scheduled this November 1, the game that faces the two teams from the cities that started this game, the New York Knicks remain in force and now they will face the heirs of the Huskies, the Toronto Raptors.

The Knicks cited the time that passed to live this moment again, 23, 394 days later, they meet again, now to celebrate 75 years of the NBA.
