Game two of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves was definitely something special. In addition to the sporting aspect, it was also personal – with match winner Luka Doncic in the lead role.

After his game-deciding three-pointer three seconds before the end, he threw some unpleasant words at his opponent Rudy Gobert, whom the Slovenian had let out so coldly.

It didn’t stop at an emotional “You can’t defend me” exclamation, as can be clearly seen from the video footage. Instead, Doncic overshot the mark – probably due to a borderline foul by his opponent in the first half.
Gobert stopped the Slovenian in the second quarter of the game with a punch to the ribs during a counterattack. Doncic complained loudly, but the referees decided against an unsportsmanlike foul.

Doncic mocks: “He can’t move”
In the interviews after the game, Dirk Nowitzki’s heir did not address the foul, but did address the decisive scene. “I have a lot of confidence in this shot,” said Doncic, who had a triple-double with 32 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds, initially soberly.
But then he couldn’t resist taking a quick jab at the Frenchman. “I mean, he’s tall,” Doncic said about Gobert’s height (2.16m) and continued: “He can’t move. I can’t move fast, but I can move faster than him.”

Gobert, on the other hand, was self-critical: “He made a big shot. I let my team down on the last play. So I definitely take responsibility, I have to be better in this situation.”
