Petronas Yamaha Duo, Valentino Rossi and Cal Crutchlow, will become the oldest duo in Grand Prix motorcycle racing history when they perform at MotoGP Styria 2021, Sunday (8/8).
Rossi will duet with Crutchlow, who replaces Franco Morbidelli, in the next three series. The British racer is currently a Yamaha test rider after deciding to retire after the 2020 MotoGP.
In the official MotoGP release, the duo Rossi (42 years) and Crutchlow (35 years) have a combined age of 77 years and are listed as the oldest duo in Grand Prix motorcycle racing history.
Rossi is certain to have a weekend at the Red Bull Ring Circuit with a lot of attention. The Doctor has the opportunity to announce his future in MotoGP after the 2021 season at the Styria MotoGP race.

Until the end of the 2021 MotoGP season, Rossi has not been able to get out of adversity. The Italian racer was only able to collect 17 points from nine series until half of the season.

“Honestly I’m not sure this is the best track for us. We know where the strongest areas of our bike are, but there are also areas where we have to improve. We have to try to balance the best in the next two races, which will be held in Spielberg,” said Rossi.
Although he considers the Red Bull Ring Circuit not the best track for Yamaha, Rossi managed to finish fifth and ninth in the Austrian and Styria MotoGP races last season.
