Charles Barkley reveals his greatest concern about college sports

Former NBA star and Turner Sports analyst Charles Barkley has a major concern about the future of college sports.

The Name, Image, and Like rules enable student athletes across the country to benefit from advertising, branding, and other business opportunities.

While many have praised the changes, Barkley sees some drawbacks.

“This idea that ‘wow, this is going to be great for college athletics, all these people are going to make a lot of money’, Dan, I don’t think so,” said Barkley to Dan Patrick.

Barkley added that doing so could spark some resentment within Locker’s spaces.

“There’ll be so much trouble from other teammates,” said Barkley. “They’ll say, ‘Hell, Charles sells jerseys. He’s got a car deal. We work as hard as him.’ Same goes for Bo Jackson, the offensive lineman – he opens all the holes for Bo Jackson, Bo Jackson makes all this money and the offensive lineman who has to do all the work doesn’t make a penny. I think these teams will have great resentment and jealousy. “

While that may be true, what is fair is fair, and it is long time that student athletes can benefit from their name, image, and likeness.

If this leads to resentment among teammates, so be it.
