Originally recorded at Monnow Valley Studios on the Welsh border, “Definitely Maybe” originally sounded “too technical and too smooth, failing to capture the essence of the groupwe can read in the description of the reissue. The sessions were eventually abandoned and the band headed to remote Sawmills Studios in Cornwall to re-record the album”. Then, thanks to the arrival of the producer Owen Morris for the final mix, “Definitely Maybe” was finally born.
In addition: In the United Kingdom, “Wonderwall” by Oasis is the most listened to song online
“The Monnow Valley recordings and Sawmills demos, now unearthed for the first time, offer a compelling new understanding of the process that achieved the final goal”, it is then specified. A precious witness to the group’s strength of will to build its legend and mark the History of Rock with a hot iron, despite the complications.
