The Southend star had the nerve to topple Dan Cox 10-7 in a super tie-break on Saturday and had to go the hard way in Weybridge to face Liam Broady in the final.

“I managed to get a head start in the first set, but he didn’t give me anything and made me work for it.
“I always think that I can win even when I’m losing, but it was difficult with the way Dan plays – he doesn’t give you cheap points at all and you have to work for each point. ”

Peniston and Broady know each other’s games like the back of their hand, but the Essex star is hoping he’ll be the one to party by the end of the weekend.
“I’ve played Liam three times in the last three weeks so we can get to know each other’s games well!” he added.
“We play similarly, so it’s going to be a fight and every time we’ve played it’s been a fight so I’m looking forward to it.
“That would be breathtaking [if I was to win]Especially if you even get a placeholder for it, it would be unreal to win first prize. “
