Juventus-Lyon: OL face the threat Ronaldo

Anyone who has mastered Cristiano Ronaldo in the first leg knows that we will have to be extra vigilant in the second leg. Winner 1-0 at Groupama Stadium on February 26, in the round of 16 first leg, OL certainly know what to expect as the five-time Golden Ball has already returned from more compromised situations on its own. For Lyon, the challenge is there.

As in April 2016, in the quarter-final second leg, when Ronaldo struck three times at the Bernabeu (3-0) against Wolfsburg after Real had lost 2-0 in Germany. Or last season, in the round of 16 return to Turin, when the Portuguese did it again for Juventus (3-0), while the Old Lady was mistreated 2-0 on the ground of Atlético de Madrid .

In total, the top scorer in the history of the competition, 128 goals, signed 27 doubles, 7 triplets and even a quadruplet – facing Malmoe for Real in an 8-0 in the 2015 group stage.

He comes back in excellent shape

In the first leg in Lyon at the end of February, Juventus did not frame any of their 14 strikes. Ronaldo, better Turinese, restless but imprecise, had remained silent that evening.

Mute, the phenomenal attacker never stays in front of goal for long. With two goals in seven Champions League games, he is sailing far from his usual standards so far. CR7 is notably the author of the best total registered in one edition, with 17 goals – for Real Madrid during the 2013-2014 season. He also achieved the prowess of scoring in eleven consecutive games from the 2017 final – during which he signed a brace with Real against Juventus (4-1) – or 17 goals.

And, additional bad news for OL, the Portuguese, titled in the Italian league on July 26, has been in great shape in recent weeks, superior to that before confinement in mid-March. And the prospect of playing the final C1 tournament in his country, Portugal, is a source of motivation that it is not necessary to recall here.

In addition, the weight of the years does not affect the performance of this precision mechanics and the coronavirus crisis neither. In 2020, no one has scored more in his championship than Ronaldo, who leads, with 23 goals, Lewandowski (Bayern), 21 goals, Immobile (Lazio), 19 goals, Haaland (Dortmund), 16 goals, or Messi (Barcelona) ), 15 goals. In the end, the quadruple Golden Boot finished behind Ciro Immobile (Lazio Rome), 36 goals, and Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), 34 goals.

Since the resumption of Calcio on June 22, Ronaldo, out of confinement like a ball, has “slammed” ten times in nine games, bringing his total to 31 goals. A level of performance that leaves you dreaming and could bring OL back to reality.
