Muguruza takes honor kick at the Santiago Bernabéu

Tennis player Garbiñe Muguruza, who won the AKRON WTA Finals on November 17 to become the first Spanish player to do so, took the honor kick off this Wednesday in the Real Madrid vs Athletic Club de Bilbao match, postponed at the time of the ninth LaLiga Santander matchday.

An experience that he already lived in 2015 when he did the same in a meeting between Real Sociedad and Eibar, since, although he was born in Caracas, since his mother is from that country, his father is from Gipuzkoa.

Even so, she looked nervous and even made a feint of hitting the ball before the end of her public address presentation, after which those attending the match at the Santiago Bernabéu gave her a standing ovation.

Coincidentally, this Wednesday he took the honor kick off a match in which Real’s greatest rival, Athletic Club, plays.

Muguruza, in addition to the AKRON WTA Finals, in his career as a professional tennis player has won, among others, two Grand Slam: Roland Garros 2016 and Wimbledon 2017. Currently, he occupies third place in the WTA classification. In 2017 it became number one.
