NCUT Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Labor Union Chairman Jiang Kongqiao attended several key matchups, including the away game against Beijing University of Science and Technology and the home game against Beijing University of Technology, to provide guidance and conduct the ceremonial tip-off.

A Symbolic Matchup for Faculty Athletics

Prior to the official third-place playoff on November 1, a friendly exhibition match featured 78-year-old academician Peng Yongzhen of the Beijing University of Technology. Faculty Teams Train During off-Hours

NCUT officials reported that the faculty basketball association has experienced a sustained improvement in performance in recent years due to increased institutional support. The university served as one of the joint organizers of the invitational, managing training logistics, venue coordination, and team preparation.

Most participating team members are faculty and staff members active in teaching, research, and administrative roles. Players utilized evening and weekend hours for practice and team development to balance their professional responsibilities with the tournament schedule. According to team representatives, the four-month competition provided an opportunity for staff to relieve work-related stress and foster collaboration with colleagues from peer institutions. Participants stated they intend to apply the lessons of teamwork and perseverance learned on the court to their teaching and research objectives in support of the university’s development goals.
