The organizing committee for the 1st Ninh Binh Provincial Club Tennis Tournament has outlined the foundational plans for the event, which is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 21, 2026. During a recent planning conference, delegates established the operational framework, focusing on venue logistics, technical regulations, and communication strategies for the upcoming competition.
The tournament will be hosted at the Sport Center I tennis complex. The opening ceremony is set for 7:30 a.m. local time on November 20. The event serves as a platform to evaluate the progress of tennis development in the region, one year after the implementation of a new two-tier local government model following the consolidation of Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binh into the unified province of Ninh Binh.
Amateur and Professional Divisions Shape the Tournament Structure
The competition is designed to accommodate both professional athletes and amateur players. According to the committee’s plans, the professional division will not be categorized by age, prioritizing open-level competition. In contrast, the amateur division will be divided into specific age groups to ensure balanced play across various disciplines, including men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles, as well as individual singles events.
In an effort to expand the sport’s reach among younger athletes, organizers have introduced a dedicated singles category for players under the age of 15.
Event Honors National Defense Day and Connects Tennis Clubs
Beyond the competitive aspects, the tournament is intended to provide a networking opportunity for members of provincial tennis clubs, allowing them to exchange technical experiences and assess the current quality of local training programs. The event also coincides with celebrations for National Defense Day and the 82nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22, 2026.
Trinh Xuan Hong, president of the Provincial Tennis Association and head of the tournament’s organizing committee, delivered the closing address at the conference. Nguyen Quoc Khang, a member of the committee and deputy director of the Ninh Binh newspaper and broadcasting station, also addressed the assembly.
