Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars Debut Rivalry Uniforms in Week 8

The Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars are introducing their new “Rivalry” uniforms for the first time this season as the NFL rolls out alternate kits for Week 8. The Halloween-timed weekend slate brings several distinct uniform combinations to the field, led by these two franchise-specific alternate designs.

Jacksonville’s new look, designated as the “Bold City” uniform, debuts against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts previously wore their own designated “Rivalries” series design during Week 3. The Jaguars’ configuration features a teal glossy-finish helmet paired with a gold facemask, displaying the “904” area code on the front and the team’s “Duuuval” battle cry on the back. The white jerseys utilize black numbers with teal drop shadows alongside gold accents and a jaguar spot pattern. That same animal print extends onto the black pants, which incorporate a teal side stripe bordered in gold. According to team details, the spot pattern conceals the names of various Jacksonville neighborhoods within the design.

Detroit’s “Defend the Den” alternate kit debuts in a matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The monochromatic silver-heavy ensemble pairs with italicized black numerals angled forward to project momentum. The shoulder construction blends Honolulu blue and black to evoke a stalking lion, a motif repeated on the pants’ side stripe. The Honolulu blue helmet incorporates a carbon-fiber-style black finish on the team logo to reference Detroit’s automotive and racing heritage.

Outside of the spotlight on Detroit and Jacksonville, other franchises line up across the Week 8 schedule, with the Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers on bye weeks.

Baltimore enters the weekend wearing a combination featuring a black helmet, white jersey, and white pants, as highlighted on the team’s official communication channels.

Cleveland rolls out an orange helmet, white jersey, and orange pants combination for their matchup, showcasing the kit via digital team updates.

Kansas City travels to face Denver pairing a red helmet and white jersey with pants pending final confirmation.

New York selects an all-green configuration for Sunday’s contest, matching a green helmet and jersey with green pants.

Washington rounds out select spotlight combinations with a burgundy helmet, burgundy jersey, and gold pants.
