Comodoro Archers Compete in National 3D Archery Final in La Plata

Nine athletes from Comodoro Rivadavia will travel to compete in the national 3D archery finals this weekend at the Club Tiro Federal Argentino in La Plata, Prensa Mercosur reported. The tournament, scheduled for October 31 through November 1, marks the conclusion of the competitive circuit.

Qualifying archers secured their spots by meeting circuit requirements and accumulating necessary points across ranked events throughout the year. Saturday’s opening session features a 24-station qualification round that establishes Sunday’s elimination brackets for the semifinals and finals.

Delegation Roster

The Petroquímica club contingent includes competitors spread across four distinct categories. Fernando Matus, Yevheniy Vdovitchenko, and Víctor Hugo Rodríguez represent the club in the men’s barebow (Raso) division.

Luciano Mena and Guillermo Bratovich compete in men’s compound, while Ariel Rivas enters the men’s recurve field. The traditional men’s category rounds out the traveling group with Juan Carlos Rodríguez, Gabriel Rivas, and Miguel Prat.

Expansion Toward La Rioja and Local Training

Ahead of the trip to La Plata, Miguel Prat met with the titular of Comodoro Deportes, Hernán Martínez, to coordinate institutional backing for national competitions and club development. Prat noted that the discussions focused on securing official support for the club’s representation in upcoming events.

Petroquímica will also send four archers—Juan Carlos Rodríguez, Miguel Prat, Ariel Rivas, and Guillermo Bratovich—to the national field archery finals scheduled for November 21 and 22 at the Asociación de Tiro con Arco de La Rioja.

Alongside competitive fixtures, the club is expanding its training schedule. A new introductory archery course begins in November, offering five instructional classes on November 2, 4, 7, 9, and 11 for residents looking to take up the sport.
