Petroquímica archers travel to 3D National Final in La Plata

Nine athletes from Comodoro Rivadavia are traveling this weekend to compete in the 3D Archery National Final, representing the Club de Tiro con Arco Petroquímica in La Plata, El Patagónico reported.

The national tournament marks the final event of the calendar year for the 3D discipline.

Delegation Traveling to La Plata

The Club Petroquímica contingent features nine competitors spanning several categories. The roster includes Fernando Matus and Yevheniy Vdovitchenko in barebow men, Luciano Mena and Guillermo Bratovich in compound men, Ariel Rivas in recurve men, and Juan Carlos Rodríguez, Gabriel Rivas, and club captain Miguel Prat in traditional men. Víctor Hugo Rodríguez rounds out the barebow men’s entries.

Competition at the Club Tiro Federal Argentino facilities in La Plata opens with a Saturday qualification round consisting of 24 stations. Those scores will determine which archers advance to Sunday’s elimination brackets, culminating in the semifinal and final rounds.

Preparation for the Field Archery Final in La Rioja

Beyond the 3D tournament, the club is preparing four archers for the upcoming National Field Archery Final scheduled for November 21 and 22 at the Asociación de Tiro con Arco de La Rioja. That roster features Juan Carlos Rodríguez and Miguel Prat in traditional men, Ariel Rivas in recurve men, and Guillermo Bratovich in compound men over 50.

Ahead of these events, Club Petroquímica president Miguel Prat met with Hernán Martínez, head of Comodoro Deportes, to discuss institutional support and upcoming youth development initiatives. Prat noted that the municipality continues to back the club’s travel and operational planning as it concludes the competitive year.

Youth School Expansion and Training Schedule

In addition to national competition logistics, club leadership addressed local instructional programs during discussions with municipal sports officials. Petroquímica is expanding its weekly class offerings and school schedules to encourage youth participation in archery.

An introductory training cycle begins with sessions scheduled for November 2, 4, 7, 9, and 11, aimed at newcomers seeking to learn the fundamentals of the sport.
