JAKARTA – Indonesian Jakarta archery athletes achieved very encouraging results. Muhammad Sakhi Athaillah, a young archer, shone by winning five gold medals at the 2025 National Interclub Archery Championship (Kejurnas).
“This tournament is very important for me to refine my competitive skills and mentality,” Sakhi said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
Sakhi, who is part of the DAD Archery Club, participated in a championship held at the Super Soccer Arena in Kudus, Central Java from December 9 to 19, 2025. During the event, he managed to collect a total of five gold medals and one silver medal.
The 13-year-old athlete won the gold medal in the U15 Men’s Recurve category at a distance of 40 meters through the qualification number in Session 1 with a score of 353 and Session 2 with a score of 342, which made the total qualification value reach 695. In addition, Sakhi also won gold in the men’s individual and team events. Another silver medal title was won in the mixed team category.
He also appreciated the strong teamwork in the doubles, which he said is the key to success.
“For the Mix Team, I teamed up with Sossa Amourra Ariyanto. Meanwhile, in the Man Team issue, I was fighting with my partner Muhammad Fatih Al Banna and Raqilla Irsyam Rosyadi,” he added.
Sakhi said these results could not be achieved without careful preparation, both technically and physically, which was carried out consistently before the championship.
“I hope that in the future, I can join the Jakarta team and become a champion in archery competitions, both nationally and internationally,” he hoped.
Meanwhile, DAD Archery Club director and coach Devi Syah Putra said he was proud of the achievements of Sakhi and the athletes he trained who competed competitively in the national event.
“In total we won 14 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals. Our acquisition of gold is the same as that of the Overall Champion, unlike silver,” he said.
During the Kejurnas, the DAD Archery Club sent 38 male and 32 female athletes accompanied by four team officials.
Devi also reminded all athletes not to become quickly satisfied with the achievements achieved and to remain enthusiastic for those who failed to reach the podium.
“Everyone must continue training intensely because no achievement is achieved instantly, it takes perseverance and hard work,” he said.
