In the first game of the doubleheader (2x 7 innings) against the Heideköpfe, the bottom team STORM achieved a respectable 5:4 win.

In an exciting, evenly matched encounter, STORM put the first two points on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning. An RBI triple paired with an error by the Heidenheim defense allowed Daniel Alejandro Martins Chirions to circle the field once and score two runs for STORM.

The response from the heath heads followed immediately. A run by Drew Janssen on a ground ball by William Germaine and a two-run home run by Shawn Larry changed the lead in the fourth inning. Shortly afterwards, Simon Liedtke was able to extend the lead with his RBI single to make the score 4-2.

STORM equalized again in the same inning. Douglas Jochum with an RBI double and Vicente Emilio Velazquez with an RBI single secured two runs for Hünstetten.

The score was 4-4 heading into the bottom half of the 7th inning. Vicente Emilio Velazquez reached third base on a double and subsequent fly out by Jacob Gentry. In this situation, the Heideköpfe had only one goal: prevent the home team from running and save themselves into the extra inning. And so the guests Daniel Alejandro Martins and Victor Ramon Velazquez sent Guillen on base with an intentional walk. All visitors were now looking forward to the duel between pitcher Simon Liedtke and batsman Yannik Kiss, who secured the victory for STORM with his walk-off single.

The win goes to Phil Meyer, who pitched a complete game over 7 innings for STORM.
