The Puerto Rican urban artist Ozunaowner of the Manatí Bears in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) -main League of Puerto Rico- was fined on sunday with $5,000 “for defamatory expressions” against the competition.

The fine against Juan Carlos Ozuna, the exponent’s first name, is “for defamatory expressions that damage the image and reputation of the BSN and its components“explained the League in a press release.

The situation occurs because last Friday, during a Bears game against the Vaqueros de Bayamón, Ozuna lay down on the court at the Juan Aubín Cruz Coliseum.

Given this, the BSN asked Ozuna to show cause why a sanction should not be imposed for said act.

“You must show cause why the corresponding disciplinary sanction for disrespectful acts in the match held on Friday, May 17 between the Osos and Vaqueros de Bayamón in the Juan Aubín Cruz Bincito”, indicated the BSN in its X account.

Ozuna, for his part, responded to this message on his Instagram account, although he later deleted it.: “I was enjoying the Bayamón fans who are my people, they are also called enjoying the league” (sic).

“I didn’t speak badly to anyone, I didn’t offend anyone. It’s a game and we enjoy it. If I have to pay for that, I pay with pleasure and pride”the message continued, but which concluded by calling the BSN administrators “charlatans.”
