Nuremberg avoids falling into the third German league

1. FC Nürnberg has dispelled any remaining doubts about staying in the league in the second German Bundesliga. In the first game after the separation from sports director Dieter Hecking, the Franconians won 3-0 against SV Elversberg on Saturday and can no longer be relegated.

1. FC Kaiserslautern, who lost 3-1 to Hertha BSC, has to tremble. The Lauterers, who return to the Olympic Stadium in two weeks for the cup final against Leverkusen, can still slip into the relegation place.

Meanwhile, Hansa Rostock lost 2-1 at FC Schalke in the penultimate round without ex-ÖFB team player Lukas Hinterseer, so relegation could be sealed on Sunday. The team from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania remained second to last in the table with 31 points. If Wehen Wiesbaden wins at Eintracht Braunschweig, Hansa will no longer be able to reach the relegation spot.
