After Goran Ivanisevic, Marco Panichi is no longer in Novak Djokovic’s team
Novak Djokovic continues to rebuild his team. Before the tournament in Monte Carlo, the 24-time Grand Slam champion separated from coach Goran Ivanisevic, and Nenad Zimjonic took over the duties of trainer for the event in the principality. Now another long collaboration has come to an end – namely the one with fitness coach Marco Panichi.
As is usual in times like these, Djokovic informed the interested public via Instagram. “Big Marco, what fantastic years we’ve had working together. We’ve reached the summit, won titles, broken records. But most of all I enjoyed our very normal training days in and out of the gym. Endless hours of “Carciofini” and laughter, who gave me great motivation to prepare myself for success.”
Djokovic is missing in Madrid this week (as he was in 2023), but will play at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome, which begins qualifying next Monday. He is also looking forward to seeing his long-term companion Marco Panichi again.
