Gordon Herbert Welcomes Dennis Schröder’s Future with Brooklyn Nets, Eyes Potential NBA Champions

Basketball national coach Gordon Herbert would welcome world champion captain Dennis Schröder’s future with the Brooklyn Nets. “I hope he stays in Brooklyn. I think he has found a home there with the team and the organization,” said Herbert at Sport1. Schröder moved from the Toronto Raptors to New York during the NBA season, but missed the play-offs with his new team.

In the championship round, Herbert is therefore primarily looking at center Daniel Theis (Los Angeles Clippers) and the brothers Moritz and Franz Wagner (Orlando Magic) – and currently has a little more confidence in Theis’ team. “It’s probably too early for Orlando this year, but in two to three years it could be a team destined for great things,” said the 65-year-old: “This year I give the Clippers a good chance of going far .”

Los Angeles is currently fighting against Maximilian Kleber’s Dallas Mavericks for the quarterfinals, Orlando is facing the Cleveland Cavaliers. The score in both series is 2-2, four wins are needed to advance.
