Ferrari lodged a protest after the finish of the 6 Hours of Spa, which was rejected

The 6 Hours of Spa on Saturday was full of twists and turns, and was even extended by almost two hours. Indeed, following the accident involving the No. 2 Cadillac and the No. 31 BMW M4 a little after 5 p.m., the red flag was displayed. At that point, the two Ferrari 499Ps, the #51 ahead of the #50, dominated the standings.

But the commissioners decided to extend the third round of the WEC for the duration of the interruption, i.e. 1 hour 44 minutes. It was ultimately Porsche which scored a double, the No. 12 of Team Jota ahead of the No. 6. The Italian manufacturer therefore decided to lodge a protest against the decision to extend the race.

It was rejected, because a decision of the stewards taken under article 13.2.1 of the FIA International Sporting Code cannot be called into question. This article states: “If circumstances so require, the Sports Stewards may take the decision to stop and/or modify the racing time completed. This cannot exceed the time of the competition. »
