Zion Williamson ruled out for Pelicans’ play-in game due to hamstring injury

The Pelicans’ Zion Williamson will not play in Friday’s play-in elimination game against the Kings due to a left hamstring injury, sources told ESPN.

The power forward of the New Orleans Pelicans, Zion Williamson (left hamstring) is out for Friday’s play-in tournament elimination game against the Sacramento Kings and will be evaluated again in the coming weeks, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday.

Williamson He scored 40 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists before breaking out of a tie game with 3:13 left in Tuesday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. It was the first 40-point, 10-rebound game of his professional career.

Williamson He played in a career-high 71 games this season and was playing in his first career non-regular season game. He missed both of the Pelicans’ play-in games in 2022 due to injury, as well as their playoff series that year.

He also missed the team’s play-in game last season due to injury.
