FC Utrecht will host Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday afternoon. Trainer Rene Hake has prepared his team for a physically demanding match.
After a dramatic start to the season, FC Utrecht is now in the sub-top and equal on points with the Eagles. Hake does not want to call the form of the Domstedelingen a resurrection. “Because I think they have had a very good group of players from the start of the season,” he says The Stentor. “It’s strange that Utrecht was at the bottom with that group, that’s where it all starts. But there’s no doubt that they’re doing well now.”
Hake sees a physically strong and experienced group in Ron Jans’ team. “They want to put a lot of pressure forward, play a lot of matches, which they are good at,” says the former FC Utrecht coach. “We must also try to expose their weaknesses. Because if they attack with many people, they will also give away spaces. You have to take advantage of that.”
